Conditional statements -- if and switch -- are OK.

Loops. VPL provides no loop structures and slaps your wrist if you wire a loop and suggest you should be using recursion... That might not be obvious to our intended audience...

Loops mainly used in RobotLab as polling and event-driven model might make many redundant in any case.
